Hi, I’m Andrew

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, EMDR-trained trauma specialist, competitive freediver, Canadian Army veteran and father.

My clinical experience spans PTSD and occupational stress injuries, moral injury, motor vehicle accident recovery and other domains, with a focused practice serving first responders, other professionals in high-stress occupations, and those affected by traumatic events. I work with both individuals and groups, and am involved in research with military and healthcare worker populations, with particular interest in moral injury.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent 15 years in the Canadian Armed Forces as an Engineer and Combat Diver. Witnessing firsthand the toll that operational deployments took on my friends and colleagues, I made a deliberate transition into a second career devoted to care and recovery.

My approach is collaborative, client-centred, and evidence-based; built on the belief that the therapeutic relationship is the foundation of meaningful change. I draw from a range of modalities tailored to each person's needs, including EMDR, Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, mindfulness-based methods, and Therapeutic Enactment. At the heart of my work is a genuine love for trauma recovery and helping clients rebuild a sense of meaning and purpose.

I understand first-hand that reaching out for help takes courage, and that the process of healing is not always easy. My commitment to every client is simple: to ensure they feel heard, respected, and understood from the very first conversation.
